Infection at Outpost 31
One day, while frequenting Alamo Drafthouse, I noticed in their merch booth a board game based off the movie "The Thing." Two things ran through my head almost simultaneously:
1. I should buy that, right now.
2. That product could have such a cool campaign.
I followed through on the second thought first. Here's a series of pulp-ish movie posters, perfect for display at participating art-house theaters, communicating just how nerve-wracking this board game is. Each word is filled with a scene from the original film. With almost no graphic design chops, I am just a pinch proud that I managed to pay homage to the 2011 movie poster (displayed at the very bottom for reference).
I also thought up a cool guerilla campaign tie-in for this: Alamo could have people planted in theater seats (perhaps for films of a similar nature), prior to the film starting. And then, right at the end of the trailers, nearly identical people could walk in, wearing the exact same clothing, and cause a scene saying that they had taken their seats. A full-on argument would unfold (semi-scripted), with the pair eventually being escorted out by staff. Then the movie would start.
